Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in lung radiating to shoulder while coughing. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like pneumonia , viral bronchitis , a leak of air from your lung into your chest , sore muscles from exertion , compression fracture or causing pressure on a nerve . I would suggest you to consult pulmonologist for proper examination . Doctor may order chest x-ray along with take sample from lung for lab test along with lung function test to confirm the diagnosis and treatment . For now apply warm compresses on chest and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
