What Causes Pain In Lymph Nodes On The Left Side Of Neck?

Yes for seven weeks I have had pain and my lymphnodes on the left side of my neck. I am going to have an MRI in two days because the X-Rays found a lot of cervical disc disease in my neck and spine. The doctors said that maybe the nodes and lumps are something else going on. Do you have any input for this?

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding painfull lumps on left side of neck.

As you said that your X-Ray neck shows some pathological changes at disc. I would like to tell you that enlarge painfull lymph nodes in neck indicates either there is any infection going on over scalp, face, nose , sinuses and throat or there is any disease of lymph nodes.

For making diagnosis there is need of thorough examination of ear , nose, throat and scalp. There are few basic investigations are also essential-

1- FNAC from lymph nodes.

2- Diagnostic nasal endoscopy / pharyngoscopy /laryngoscopy.

3- BLOOD- CBC, ESR, lipid profile.

With the help of inferences of above investigations and their clinical co-relation one may reach to correct diagnosis. Once the diagnosis is made accordingly treatment may be planed.

Regards.
