What Causes Pain In My Left Calf Muscle?

HI i have got continuous pain through my left calf muscle, first i had it about 4 weeks ago was same, went doctor thought might have been a blood clot. Sent away for blood test but came back saying it wasnt one. Then it gradually went away. But as of yesterday the pain is returning to same area of leg taken tablets to ease pain but didn't help plus cooling gel still not working. Just can't seem to get comfortable with it especially when im sleeping keeps me awake. even now pain is still there doesnt go away.
