What Causes Pain In Neck And Back While Coughing Due To Bronchitis?

I was recently diagnosed with Bronchitis, today while I was having a coughing spell the pain in my neck and up the back of my head was very intense along with pain and pressure in my chest. I haven t smoked for 15 plus years, I am in reasonably good health and not overweight. The neck and head pain did cause a headache. Are these symptoms normal for Bronchitis? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Persistent or severe coughing can cause headaches or muscle aches or pain in the neck.

This is not uncommon. If the coughing episodes are treated then there should be decreased in the other symptoms such as headaches/ neck pain.
Using an anti inflammatory pain medication such as cataflam, naproxen, ibuprofen

I hope this helps
