General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the pain neck and upper back after epidural injection is not side effect of the same. It is the evaluation of degree of pain with proportion to previous pain scale is vital to consider rather than focusing on current data.

If the same is lesser than the initial pain episode, it means there is recovery and if the same is persistent over the period of time after epidural shot that means it has not worked to desired level.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
