What Causes Pain In Rib Cage Radiating Towards Back?

Hello, I am experiencing some pain in my rib cage area which radiates to my back. The pain is on my right side. It gets worse when I lye flat on my back or on my right side. I also gets worse when I lean towards my right side. Do you have any idea what this can be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

Pain under ribs cage on right side could be muscular origin but here I would also want to rule out chances of gall bladder stones or choleycystitis.

You may need to do some blood counts,ESR, electrolyte, liver function tests and abdominal ultrasound.

You may need to take oral and topical pain killers with antacids available over the counter with warm compression for symptommatic relief.

Pain may get subsided by 2 to 3 days and in case not, then consult general surgeon for further examination and treatment.

Regards,
