What Causes Pain In Ribcage Radiating Towards Back?

45 yo male hurting on left side near ribcage radiates into back. Chest strain about 12 months ago from work related injury. Have not felt well since. Noticed lately that pain is worse after eating greasy foods. The only thing that brings relief is acupuncture.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to costochondritis. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain. I also suggest using cold compresses for local application. I also recommend to rest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
