What Causes Pain In Ribs While Coughing Or Sneezing?

I am not sure how I hurt my ribs but I believe it was when my 5 year old daughter was sitting on my chest while watching television she jumped up quickly and came down on my lower right side. I only have a slight discomfort when I cough or sneeze and if i sleep on my right side I feel some discomfort in the morning or when I turn to change sides. I am training for a half marathon and wanted to know how long I need to refrain from running and can I ride a stationary bike? Thank you for your help!
