What Causes Pain In Right Chest With Fever?

My son age 48 is having right side chest pain with fever 101-102 for approximately 5 days. Refuses to go to doctor. He thinks it s gas. Took some prescription gas medicine yesterday and it subsided but has returned today. Can you tell me what these symptoms could indicate?

Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinon you should consult pulmonologist and get done chest x ray. By your symptoms chances of pneumonia is more. Sometimes pleurisy ( inflammation of pleura) also give rise to fever and chest pain. So consult pulmonologist first. Don't wait.
