What Causes Pain In Right Jaw Radiating Into Neck?
Hi. I'm having right jaw pain that's radiating up to my temple and into my neck. I also feel pain in my trachea. Nothing like sore throat pain, this feels like it's being squeezed. It's somewhat painful to take deep breaths, and worse when lying down.
Thanks for your query . The symptoms you mention in your query are clearly pointing towards a condition known as 'BRUXISM' . This grinding of teeth at night . The difficulty in breathing and pain on laying down is due to soreness facial muscle that involve in grinding of teeth .
Bruxism has many reasons like stress , dental infection or misalignment of teeth .
Consult dentist for proper diagnosis and to rule out other TMJ problems (temporomandibular joint ) . Doctor will examine physically and take medical history .
Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant (orthodox MR) , give you night guard , treat dental infection if it is there and give you instruction to bite in right plane .
If there is problem of misalignment then doctor will refer you to orthodontist.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
