Hi,I am Dr. Radhakrishna (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
After having a persistent pain in my lower abdomen I went to my doctors and he said i may have a ovarian cyst, i had a ultrasound and there was in fact a cyst in what my doctor said was my left side. He said to wait 2 months to see if it goes away. It s only been a couple weeks but i am experiencing a pain in my right lower abdomen even though the cyst is in my left ovary.
Hi ! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
If I were your doctor, I would have advised you with a routine stool test for ova and cyst to rule a colitis. I would have also done a general physical examination of yours with special attention to the abdomen particularly when you get pain in the abdomen. In case there is any finding in the stool, appropriate treatment would cure your problem. In case of persistent and increasing episodes of pain, I might advise you either for a CT scan of abdomen to know the status of your appendix, or a diagnostic laparoscopy which might also be converted to therapeutic one in case of any such laparoscopic finding. Till then you could go for an antispasmodic and a proton pump inhibitor drug for a symptomatic relief.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
