What Causes Pain In Right Thigh Radiating Towards Hip And Buttocks?

I am a 60 yr old F, have been having pain that began approx. 1 mo ago, started in the front of the mend in my rt thigh, but has since spread to the outer hip and side of buttock. I was told it could be a reflexor issue. What is that and what kind of testing is there for it? I tried resting and ice and heat over the past few weeks, but no relief. It is getting worse, I have not injured my self so what do you think?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to sciatica pain.
I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as as Acetominophen to relieve the pain.
I also recommned gentle streching exercises.
If the symptoms continue, you should see a neurologist and get evaluated.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
