What Causes Pain In Swollen Heel?

I went to an Immediate Care due to having pain in my heel and unable to bear weight on it. It was swollen and I was in pain. They took an x ray and said I had a closed fracture of the heel bone. I went to the orthopedic doctor yesterday and had more x rays. They stated that I did not have a fracture just maybe a severe sprainn and bruising on the inside. They wrapped it and put me on crutches, and told me to keep elevated. I am still having pain in the area like a toothache. I go back in 10 days. What is your opionion

Hi,

Follow all those given by the orthopedic. Side by side you take hot water fomentation to the painful heel. It will relax your painful muscles and reduce swelling over there. Apply pain killer gel there.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rakesh Bhatty, General & Family Physician
