What Causes Pain In Tail Bone Alleviated After Bowel Movement?

I woke up yesterday with a throbbing at my tail bone, (but not the actual anus.) Last night and today it is much worse. This morning, after my shower, I felt like I was going to faint. I was and am in so much pain. I don't do vigorous excersises, but I did change my routine slightly the night before I woke with the pain. Could it be from that? The pain seems to alleviate slightly when I have a BM. It sort of feels like someone is trying to stab me in my tail bone. It's every few minutes, and I can feel it when I am seated, standing, or walking. I felt around a little last night and felt a tiny bump at the sight. Do I need to go to my Dr?
