What Causes Pain In Tailbone After Undergoing Ureteroscopy?

Hello, I recently had an ureteroscopy. I have had many of these in the past 10 years. However, following this surgery, I ve been having pain in my tailbone after sitting at work. Could this be a result of the procedure on my kidney. I have never experienced before.

Hi,

I am reading through your inquiry, and I hope to help. So as far as the nerve supply goes that area where the ureteroscopy was performed should be radiating pain that low. But I do have to say, that often the position patients are placed in for this procedure, in the OR, often places the patient with the main axis of weight onto the tailbone, it is not uncommon for patients for have tailbone pain after these types of procedures as the bulk of their body weight is focused onto the tailbone. I don't think this is secondary to the surgery at least not directly, but I do think it is due to bad positioning during the procedure. At least that is my suspicion from what I see.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
