What Causes Pain In Temple Region With Facial Numbness?

Hello, i brought my friend to the hospital about a week ago, she was admitted given basic blood,cholesterol, and pregnancy test. All test came back fine. She was discharged with the diagnosis of what is called 'vertigo dizziness'. The hospital docs. had prescribed 'meclizine. Her symptoms have not gotten better. In fact yesterday she progressed to having a horrible pain on left temple. Today she awoke with the left side of her face numb and what seems to look slanted. She can't move any part of her left side. I just need a thought on how serious this can be, and what it may be.
