Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
About 9 months ago, at the moment of ejaculation, I experienced tremendous pain in my right testicle. This happened once again the next time I had sex. Then weeks later I experienced severe pain and (what felt like) cramping in the area between my anus & testicles. A few months after these events, I started to notice a drop in the force and volume of my of ejaculation. At this time, my volume is probably 1/4 of what it used to be and the semen always dribbles out. There seems to be no abnormality in my testes. Same size, shape, coloration, no masses or lumps. Can you give me some ideas as to what might have happened and what tests I should have done. I am age 36. Thank you.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. After going through the description about your problem of pain in testicle and ejaculation, it appears that you might have developed 'varicocele'. Varicocele is an abnormal enlargement of the pampiniform venous plexus in the scrotum, which are plexus of veins (blood vessels) drains the testicles. Defective valves, or compression of the vein by a nearby structure, can cause enlargement of the these veins, leading to the formation of a varicocele. It can be treated by a surgery or non-surgical treatments. It can be diagnosed by clinical examination, but can be reliably diagnosed with ultrasound examination of scrotum. It can be treated by a surgery or non-surgical treatments. Hence, kindly get an ultrasound of scrotum done and visit Surgeon with report for further management. Hope the information given is useful. All the best.
