What Causes Pain In The Ankle Joints?

I have pain on joints below my ankles on both sides (inside only). Pain started right at the end of running a marathon last month. Took 2 weeks off from running. Didn t feel pain so tried running a short distance but noticed recurring pain. Now I m just doing indoor cycle. Pain is still there but manageable. Wondering if this is the start of arthritis. Been taking Advil trying to calm down the inflammation but concerned that this is going to be a chronic issue.

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi,

By what you say I feel that this could be-

1. Achilles tendon rupture
2. Mild sprain of the ankle joint

I think good rest and good pain relief should give you a solution. If this is not working then I suggest that you will require a pop cast by an orthopedic surgeon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
