Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain In The Ankles Along With Red Spots On The Body?
I have been fighting the epstein barr virus for three months. It started with a painful sore throat which is mostly gone, but I started feeling a sore throat again yesterday. I have experienced pain in my ankles, elbows and knees, but that has mostly gone away. I am really sleepy pretty much every day. I have red spots all over my body, but they seem to be calming down. I was diagnosed with common variable immune deficiency 21 years ago and I give myself a subcutaneous infusion of IGG twice a week. This is not going away and the energy drain is having a significant effect on my life. Do I need to contact my immunologist?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per my clinical experience, the current presentation suggests there is underlying immune response to the virus.
As there is already IgG infusion is going on, you must seek advise of your immunologist for further proceedings.
Till that period, primary care of local part with antiseptic cleansing, ice application over ankles and analgesic, such as Tylenol or else would help for the relief.
Wish this information will help you. Do feel free to ask further doubts.
