What Causes Pain In The Arm After Receiving Pneumovax Injection?

I had a pneumovax 23 injection 5 hours ago. I just woke from a nap and my arm from the shoulder to the elbow is so sore I can barely lift my arm. I ve applied arnica cream to the site and am thinking of taking an Aleve. on a scale of 1-10...pain is a 7+

Hello,

Pain and swelling after an injection are normal, but excruciating pain leading to the inability of movement as in your case is not.

I would advise you to wait for a day or two and if you don't feel any relief get yourself checked by a physician to rule out any infection.

Meanwhile continue taking the Aleve as it will help to reduce the pain and inflammation.
