What Causes Pain In The Arm While Having A Metal Rod Insert?

I have a metal rod in my forearm for about 16years. And only now is it starting to hurt and im struggling to do my day to day routine. Is it due to the weather being really cold for why its hurting? And how can i resolve the pain? Because in the past its hurt but not as bad as its hurting now. Ive been taking ibuprofen for the pass couple days and it really hasnt helped.

Hello,

Pain may be a muscular or arthritis pain or also check for Infection like osteomyelitis or osteoporosis etc.

Use tablet Tramadol with paracetamol twice a day for five days. Use cold and warm compression.

Take rest, avoid heavy weight lifting. Get it done X-ray of the forearm and Consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
