Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A month ago I stuck myself with an ice pick about half inch deep at base of thumb palm side. Was painful with pain shooting halfway up arm. Went on vacation drove over 5000 miles in a month, got what looked lik chicken pox down left arm and blisters that went around thumb and index finger and made numb.the blisters healed and about gone, but my shoulder has been very sore at rest. I did some heavy concrete busting by hand with hammer and chisel, also may have got into some glass insulation. Shoulder wakes me at night and been through two bottles of Advil. It helps, but still wakes me at night!
hi in my opinion shoulder pain in not due to your ice pick or blisters developing on arm however I find it more to be related to your occupation or activities which involves over exertion of shoulder As your self mentioned you were engaged in high physical activity involving hammer and chisel You must have developed injury to rotator cuff simply shoulder muscles leading to pain in shoulder It can be managed with activities modifications, pain killers like paracetamol, diclofenc etc and normal movements of shoulder. Please do visit an orthopedic surgeon for physical examination and ruling out any bony injury if pain persists.
