Hi doctor, I just finished seeing my period a week ago, since then I started having serious pains at back and my lower adormal, with headache, fever... I started votiming now my chemist has given malaria drugs, she also suggested I should deworm myself but am afraid because an expectant mother. Should I deworm myself bc of the votiming and pains on my belly? Thanks. Julia
I read your message and I understood your problem.
Probably the symptoms you are experiencing headache, fever, vomiting, back and lower abdominal pain, are because of the infection or because of the deworming drugs you are taking.
I think you should see the doctor and make some tests to determine the parasite and take the specific treatment for that. If malaria confirmed, then, anti-malarial treatment should be started, and think to post pone pregnancy planning.
Try to stay hydrated so drink liquids as much as you can and discuss this further with your doctor.
Hope this was helpful. Wish fast recovery. Dr.Albana
