What Causes Pain In The Back Of The Head?

Hi. I have a pain in the back right side of my head, just above my neck. It s painful to the touch. When I sleep at nite, it s very painful. I thought it was my pillow causing the pain but pain remains during the day. I don t want to overreact but want to see if this is something I should be concerned about.

Hello,

The symptoms you refer may be caused by simple conditions such as muscle strain.

Simple painkillers (Ibuprofen for example) and warm procedures on your neck should improve your symptoms.

If the problems persist then spondylosis of your upper spine should be considered and evaluated further.
