What Causes Pain In The Bilateral Orbits Of Eyes?

I have been having sharp pain in the lateral bilateral orbits of my eyes since yesterday. The pain has steadily gotten worse. It only hurts when my eyes are exposed to light. I do not have a migraine or any migraine symptoms. It feels like my eyes are trying to retract into my head. It is worse in my left eye. I do not know what brought this on. I have pain meds but do not want to take them. I cannot get into see my Dr. anytime soon, and cannot afford an urgent care. What should I do? What is causing this?

Hi,

Bilateral pain in both eye of such short duration can be related to sinusitis. You are required to take steam inhalation and anti-histamine tablets like Cetirizine along with oral N-SAIDS for pain relief. If this does not help then you are required to consult a physician or an ophthalmologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
