Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
When I lay on my left side, the bottom rib hurts. Even if I sleep on my other side, if I roll over in the middle of the night, the pain wakes me up. I was handling frozen ground beef (breaking it up to thaw it out) tonight around 4:30 and it hurt again, while I was standing up. This has been going on for about six months. I told my regular physician and she said, Then don t lay on that side . DUH!
Hello Dear. May be there is a small injury in your ribs due to constant strain. You need to consult an orthopedic surgeon who will take an x ray of your chest and diagnose. If there is a fracture he will immobilize your limb on that side by putting a cast and prescribe you to take pain killers for 2 or 3 weeks. Then you will be fine.
Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you. All the best With warm regards Dr Sanjay Kini
