What Causes Pain In The Buttocks Of A Child?

my daughter is 10 years old she has been complaing that her bottom hurts for like two weeks she says she can t sit on the floor or her chair at school I just thought it was like a bruise from playing or something but she s been going on about it for two weeks and says it still hurts. I was just wandering if it was like a bruised tailbone or something I haven t seen anything on her bottom.

Hello,

I think your daughter is going to menstruate very soon. I advise to get her a good gynecological examination.

We should rule out any sexual abuse. And should get an abdominal ultrasound to check her uterus and ovaries if they are getting ready to menstruate.

Her kidneys and urinary pathways should be checked too. Plus check her anal area, perhaps she has haemorrhoids.
