What Causes Pain In The Buttocks?

I am experiencing pain in the cheeks of my buttocks for the second time. The pain level is about a 6. The last time was in the past 12 months and lasted two days. This time it began yesterday. It seems like an odd issue to me. Any thoughts on what might be the cause?

get it locally examined by surgeon. it can be abscess or some bony injury. can take x-rayof affected buttock and consultorthopaedic surgeon.for examination diagnosis and advice on treatment.
