What Causes Pain In The Chest And Back While Breathing?

I have been wheezing for over 2 weeks now and now my chest and back hurt and aches when I breathe. I am an overweight 36 year old African American Woman and I need relief. I have had respiratory problems before; but was never diagnosed with asthma; but my dad and son and daughter have asthma.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you should rule out lung infection and bronchitis because both can't cause wheezing and pleuritic type of pain.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system.
2. Chest x ray to rule out lung infection.
3. PFT (pulmonary function test) to rule out bronchitis and asthma.
You may need antibiotics, antihistamine and inhaled bronchodilators.
So better to first diagnose yourself and than start appropriate treatment.
Hope I have solved your question.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
