What Causes Pain In The Chest And Back While Suffering From Pericarditis?

I have been diagnosed with pericarditis. It is four months now. Chest and upper middle of the back pain. I am on colchicine and ibruprofen. They are treating it symptomatically, what else could it be? I have passed all the stress tests. How long should it take?

Pericarditis itself causes a pain in the chest and back. The cause of pericarditis needs to be detected after proper investigations for a specific treatment.
