Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I'm a 48 yr old woman in good health...I'm experiencing some chest pain....feeling like I need to belch. Weird because I haven't eaten anything I don't think to give me indigestion. Now having dull ache in the lower right side of my neck. I'm not feeling sweaty or clammy.....
Hi Thanks for posting your query on HCM I have read and understood your concern The pain you describe in your chest and neck points towards GERD(gastro-oesophageal reflux disease)/peltic ulcer disease. Such pains are usually aggravated when you go for long without eating.I feel it may be the case with you since you declare not to have eaten anything. However, examination by the Doctor will still be very important to confirm diagnosis.Other possible causes may include: -Heart pathologies -Lung pathologies However, all these are less likely as they always manifest more with other symptoms.I will suggest you try the following: -Eat in small quantities and many time per days -Take a proton pump inhibitor like omeprazole -An antacid like maalox If pains persist, you see the Doctor for examination. Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns Best regards
