General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

This sounds most consistent with gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD), especially if you don't have any other symptoms of angina pain, such as chest pain with exertion. For GERD, the treatment would involve avoiding foods that exacerbate acid production (such as food and drinks with caffeine (coffee), spicy foods, chocolate, tomato-based products, and citrus fruits), and if that isn't enough, medications such as antacids, H2 blockers such as ranitidine, and proton-pump inhibitors such as omeprazole can be used.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
