Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have been having left upper chest pain sporadically for the last several months. The pain is mildly sharp and comes and goes for a short period of time. It typically happens when I am at rest. I have been diagnosed with aorta regurgitation - mild. I am also being medicated for high cholesterol. There is no significant family cardiac history. I am a 56-year old female and I exercise three to four times a week. I was wondering if aorta regurgitation is causing this pain and if I should see a cardiologist.
If you have consistent chest pain, it is always advisable to consult a cardiologist. There are two reasons for this. You will know for sure your heart condition, if no problem, automatically you will not feel the pain again.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
