Chest pain can be due to
heart attack, angina, gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD),
peptic ulcer,
costochondritis,
pleural effusion, or
pericarditis.
As your doctor has excluded causes in heart and lung, so cause of chest pain can be due to GERD.
In GERD, the contents of the stomach come back into the esophagus. There are several reasons why people have GERD. GERD causes heartburn, a burning feeling in the chest and throat. Heartburn may happen many times a week, especially after eating or at night. GERD can also cause you to cough or have asthma symptoms.
