What Causes Pain In The Chest?

I have chest pain for 1 week my doctor sent me to the ER a few days ago and they aren t sure why I have the pain. They made an appointment with a cardiologist for me my EKG was abnormal and my blood pressure was high. I still have the same amount of pain as before. Is it okay to wait another 9 days to see the cardiologist. I was told my blood work x-ray was normal and they didn t think I was having a heart attack.

hello
In my opinion in absence of abnormalities on EKG and chest X ray, the pain may be due to muscular spasm or costochondritis or severe reflux.
A trial of ant acids can be done .
Local application of analgesic ointment also can be tried.
However it's worthwhile to meet the cardiologist as EKG might miss cardiac abnormalities.
