What Causes Pain In The Eye Region?

I have pain in my eye above my eyeball, burning, stinging pain that sometimes gets severe enough that it feels like my eye is being stabbed. I've been to three doctors (two opthalmologists) who say it's caused by dry eyes. I'm not disputing that I have dry eyes, but I try to tell them it's something different and they just don't listen. I also occasionally can "see" my pulse in the same eye. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

You are having stress and anxiety.Your family physician should manage that aspect. For dry eye take refresh tear 3times daily and add cromal eye drop. Take hifenac p tablet after food for 5days. Anxiety aspect is to be treated.
