What Causes Pain In The Finger?

hi, im just wondering if i should get an x-ray. Last Friday, my friend kicked my finger by accdent during swim practice. It got swollen, red, and very tender, so ive been busy taping it. It hurts the most on the middle knuckle of my middle finger. Now there is a boney knob thing there, but it doesnt hurt, just below it and on the top in the middle. I went to my doctor and he felt it andsaid it wasnt broken, but to get an X -ray by the end of the week if it didnt change. It hasnt changed, but ill be out of town for the next two weeks, and i dont know if i should get an x-ray soon, or wait to see if it gets better in that time. (by the way: i know its not broken, but i dont know if it has a fracture or something else wrong) any advise apeciated

Hi. you should get an X ray soon , it may also be a little fracture that you can t see. and then you will need anyway a treatment.
