What Causes Pain In The Groin Area?

I fell about 2 months ago and struck the posterior side of my l hip I waseverlyruised. My doctor did X-ray and due to tightness and a feeling my hip would give out she ordered an MRI of my lumbar spine which were both negative. I had mild groin pain for about a week. Hi there,

Seeing as your MRI did not show any evidence of any problem, you likely have a sprain of your groin. Although sprains sound benign, they can actually take about 4 weeks to heal. I'd recommend resting the area as much as possible, and using ibuprofen if you don't have any bleeding or kidney disorders. You can take up to 800mg every 8 hours, and ibuprofen will help with the inflammation in addition to the pain. I'd also recommend warm compresses to the area.
