What Causes Pain In The Gums?

Hi, I have had pain in my upper gums for a few days now. I also have an ulcer up there which might explain everything, but I also feel the tendon? linking the gum and lip is inflammed? I am not sure if the colour is normal or not it is blood red at the second level of my upper gums? I have been rincing with salt water and feel like it has gotten a little better.

The ulcer could be the source of your pain. It could be from an infection that has spread a little into the area between gum and lip. Redness is not normal and is a sign of inflammation or infection. Salt water rinses can be helpful, so you can keep doing that. If it's getting worse or not healing up, you may need to see your doctor or dentist and get on some antibiotics. Hope this helps.
