What Causes Pain In The Hands And Fingers While On Gabapentin?

I am on gabapentin, prescribed by my neurologist, and on the bottle it says diabetic nerve pain. was asked if I had diabetes and told him no. But have discomfort in hands, fingers etc., tingling and sharp pains at times, I am a farmer and did a lot of baling, lifting, and many other aspects of farming.
