What Causes Pain In The Head Upon Taking A Deep Breath?

My question is kind of hard to describe when I take a very deep breath I feel a like pain on the top left of my head/scalp. It is not severe in anyway nor does it affect my days. I have been prone to headaches in the past and have recently started working on 3rd shift at my job which is 10pm-6:30am and sense moving to this shift I have experienced a few more headaches then usual which I did consult my doctor about and have also been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder a few months ago I didn’t know if that could be a cause sense it seems to be the cause everything else I’ve experienced in the past including chest pain and tight muscles and things like that. I’ve had blood work done numerous times and everything has been fine so I’m just curious if the irritation I’m feeling could be stress related or maybe sinus related, thank you for your time

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

By your history and description, possibility of stress and anxiety related migraine like headache is more likely. So follow these steps for better symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
2. Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated.
3. Avoid excessive sun exposure. Avoid fasting and take your meals timely.
4. Take Propranolol and Flunarizine combination at night.
5. Take sound sleep of 6-8 hours.
Don't worry, you will be alright following the above. If not improving then consult psychiatrist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar
