What Causes Pain In The Heel While Getting Up To Walk?

I am having extreme pain in the heel of my foot. It feels like I have a rock bruise. It is most painful when getting up to walk but subsides over time. It is bearable as I continue to walk, but the pain stays throughout the day. I have tried rubbing my heel over a frozen water bottle and taking Advil. Any suggestions?

you should visit your doctor and discuss your current condition with him. A x-ray of the foot might reveal a "spur" on the heel bone. This could be the source of your pain.

You could also try to use more comfortable shoes to decrease the pain you experience.
