What Causes Pain In The Hip Radiating To The Lower Back?

good morning, i woke up last wednesday morning and had a sharp pain in my right hip that radiares around to my lower back, i had it everyday since and when i went to my spine dr on this wednesday he did some movement tests and he thinks i may have a tear in something or that it is bone on bone, he has ordered an mri of my hip which i am waiting to hear from to set up, meanwhile i am on prednesone and hydrocodone. the hydrocodone barely toches the pain and last night when i went to sit in my car i had the worst sharp pain in my hip that i almost passed out. my question is, what do you think caused this? i am not into any kind f physical sports and have done nothing different.i am currently under spine care and have had 2 spinal injections, the forst one helped my left leg spasme issue, however right after the 2nd one i had a spasm 2 days later and my left leg is still going numb from the knee down, this has taken a back set due to the major pain in my right hip. it doesn t hurt if i keep real still and walk forward and backward holding it tight, howver any kind of other movement or sitting or standing too long it starts to hurt

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As first-line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.
If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.
An MRI scan may be required for further assessment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
