What Causes Pain In The Jaw After Receiving A Lidocaine Shot?

My dermatologist last Wednesday removed a skin mole from my scalp behind my right ear for a biopsy. She gave me a nerve blocker shot I believe was Lidocaine and ask if I was allergic to it. I said I didn t know for sure. Two hours later the nerves in my teeth and jaws became so traumatized to the point I couldn t eat. I took a couple of Aleve tablets and it helped a little but couldn t sleep at all Wednesday night. Thursday I was better. About 80% of the pain is gone but still have a lot of pain in my left jaw joint and lower teeth. Will this go away? Should I call my DR. Monday?
