Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern....

As per your complain it seems that pain in jaw and unable to open mouth full while eating and chewing or restricted mouth opening also known as Trismus while having a history of neck and face injury seems to be probably due to jaw joint dysfunction also known as Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction or TMJ/TMD.

There can be dislocated mandible/lower jaw and it can be secondary to trauma and can be a common reason for the symptoms that you are experiencing..

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and he can advise you to get a Panoromic x ray done to look for the jaw joints and rule out the cause and treat accordingly..

As of now you can take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen along with muscle relaxant like Tizanidine and also do warm compresses over the side of face..
Massage the sides of face with gentle round movements of the fingers..
Take a soft diet and avoid excess mouth opening..

Once the cause is ruled out you can be advised manual reduction of the jaw if it is dislocated along with mouthguards..
You can also be advised surgical correction if conservative treatment does not help..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
