Hello dear. Swollen ankles and swollen feet are common and usually not cause for concern, particularly if you have been standing or walking a lot. But feet and ankles that stay swollen or are accompanied by other symptoms could signal a serious health problem. To tell you in detail about few causes:

1. Foot or ankle trauma
2. Lymphedema
3. Venous insufficiency
4. Infection
5. Blood clot
6. Heart, Liver, Kidney disease
7. Side effects of some medications like- Hormones such as estrogen and testosterone, Calcium channel blockers, a type of blood pressure medication, which includes nifedipine (Adalat, Afeditab, Nifediac, Nifedical, Procardia), amlodipine (Norvasc), diltiazem (Cardizem, Cartia, Dilacor, Diltia, Tiazac), felodipine (Plendil), and verapamil (Calan, Covera-HS, Isoptin, Isoptin SR, Verelan) etc

Kindly consult a physician who will take detailed history and order of investigations if required.

Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you.
All the best
With warm regards
