What Causes Pain In The Joints?

My husband has just been diagnosed with some type of auto immune disease but the dr hasn t done a colonoscopy yet. Can you tell me what it sounds like to you given he has pain in most of his joints? He has had, several years ago, a stomach infection with severe pain. The dr has ruled out any type of arthritis. Thank you.

Hi .welcome to "Ask A Doctor service". I have read your question and here is my advice
if there is arthritis , pain in the joint in assossiation with bowel probelm may be IBD , inflator bowel disease. howe'veryou have not mentioned if he has any bowel problems like pain abdomen or loose motions. and also that why he has to do colonscopy ?
some times arthritis may be assossiated with viral infection however you have provided very limited data to better understand the whole scenario .
Hopes I have answered your question. I will be glad to answer any further question about this.
Kind Regards
Dr Rahman
