What Causes Pain In The Knee Below Kneecap Radiating Towards Outer Knee?

Hello Doctor, I m having a pain in my right knee below the knee cap which goes up the outer side of the knee. This started monday when I went for a 5 mile run. It has happened before in the past. My friend said its probably due to not stretching. Is this correct?

Hi there.

Yes, it is possible that due to lack of warm up exercises you may be experiencing muscle spasm around the knee. Apply warm soaks and do stretching exercises. Keep well hydrated.

Thanking you.

Regards,

Dr. Aashish Raghu
