What Causes Pain In The Left Breast?

I am 50. female, was having contraction type pain in left breast, lasted all days, and felt like it was timed or in rhythm, it hurt only for short few seconds, then it would stop, then come back like 10 mins later and only in left breast and it felt all the way through...haven t had mammogram in years, and don t know if its heart related, I do have essential benign hbp, take dyacide and have menieres . thank you
