General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

RA can cause joint and muscle pain so it is possible that it is linked to the pain that you are experiencing.

The pain can also be due to muscle spasm. This does not necessarily involve severe trauma but any sudden or unexpected movement can cause spasm to occur.

The combination of a muscle spasm and a pain killer would be helpful to relieve your pain.
The muscle spasm may need to be prescribed. Examples are soma, flexiril, valium.

I hope this helps
